Tax Credits – $26K to go by Apr 15

Have you redirected your AZ taxes to DMS yet?

This is a tax credit, not a deduction, so the full amount is subtracted from what you owe in Arizona income tax. You receive a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the amount you pay in taxes to the state for the amount of your donation. You can make a donation as late as April 15th and claim it against the previous year’s taxes.

For all of those who have given thus far, thank you! DMS has received $18,350 as of March 26th. We have until April 15th to meet our $45,000 goal. All of your tax dollars go directly to our extracurricular and character education programs.

Make Outdoor Learning Possible for Grades 3 & 4

We are getting closer to reaching our goal to build a new outdoor learning and shaded porch area for the lower grades buildings. An extension of the 3rd & 4th grade classrooms will offer a much needed covered space for outdoor learning, eating and playing.

A generous donor has agreed to match every single dollar you give – up to $3,500.

Matching Date – Extended Until March 30th

DMS Campus Improvements – Autumn 2017

Thank you to the our Maintenance Team and Roof Contractor for all of our new Campus Improvements – both added beauty & function. We are excited to announce that our grade 1 & 2 building has a new metal roof! We have also added two new storage sheds and expanded our irrigation to the lower play yard for new grass growth.

Community Choir – Starting Oct 19

Do you long for community? Do you long to create musical and social harmony? Well, community singing does that and more. Community singing is not meant for the “gifted” or the “talented”. It is there for everyone, regardless of musical ability or accomplishment, because the urge to sing is a fundamental impulse in every person to express the inexpressible! It’s about joy, laughter, shedding a tear or two because yes, that beautiful sound IS coming from everyone joining their voices together! It’s about letting go and letting out! It’s about getting a weekly sound bath and a musical massage! It doesn’t take as much energy as it gives! It’s about unexpected friendships and yes, harmony like we never thought harmony could be!

Community Singing is not limited to teachers, staff and parents or DMS. Anyone is welcome. Feel free to bring a friend or a teenager 16 and older.

We will be meeting 8 times during the fall to sing songs that everyone can learn quickly: songs about nature, about the season, the environment, about being human together! During the last two meetings we will sing holiday music so that we may go into the winter break with songs in our hearts.

The schedule:

We will meet in the Eurythmy room from 7 – 8:30 p.m. on the following 8 evenings:

Thursdays: October 19th and 26th
Tuesdays: November 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th & December 5th and 12th

Fee: a suggested sliding scale from $5-$10 per session. DMS teachers and staff $5. No one should be left out. If payment is not possible please come anyway.
