B.A., Education, Northern Arizona University
Debbie Allen has served as volunteer, substitute teacher, assistant and teacher at DMS since 2009. In fact, it was her Desert Marigold kindergarten tour that year that inspired her to a degree in teaching after raising her family. Debbie had already served as a special needs assistant at Johnson Elementary from 1994 to 1997, and she was nominated for staff support person of the year for Mesa Public Schools, the largest school district in the state.
After achieving highest honors in her teaching degree, Debbie completed the Rudolf Steiner college course for second grade teachers. Here at DMS she has flourished in early childhood education, kindergarten and various grades classes as a volunteer and student teacher and in first, second and third grades as lead teacher.
Debbie has four children and nine grandchildren.
