The class 12 play is one of the artistic and social highlights of a Waldorf high school education. Every 12th grade produces and performs a full-scale theatrical production before the school community as part of their core curriculum. The play selected is chosen to meet the interests and talents of the class performing it. Whether acting in a lead or supporting role or working behind the scenes as a costume, set, lighting designer or technician, each member of the class carries creative responsibility for the success of the production.

This year the DMS High School seniors are presenting a comedy success, called You Can’t Take It With You. An eccentric family allows each member to pursue his own ambition in the home, but their routine is disrupted when a daughter with a regular job wants to bring her fiancé and his Wall Street family to dinner in George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy.

The 12th graders are dedicated to this grand production. They spend hours rehearsing and creating set designs and costumes. Please support the seniors and see this drama full of laughter and surprises. Directed by Speech Artist and Drama Teacher, Kim Snyder-Vine, and produced by the senior class.

A Peer Lead (All things WALDORF inspired) Parent Education Group

Dear DMS (and Friends of the DMS) Community,

Please Join Us on Tuesday, April 30th from 7:00pm-8:30pm in the High School.

Have you ever wondered “WHY Waldorf”? Let’s discover it together! Each month we will have a new topic. If you are in Early Childhood, the Grades, High School or just a healthy curiosity about Waldorf Education, this might be the little gem that you have been searching for…

The Full Rainbow Spectrum – The Importance of offering an Early Childhood though High School Experience in the Waldorf Curriculum

with
Ms. Miller

Ms. Miller holds degrees in Anthropology and Mathematical Statistics. She completed her Waldorf Teacher Education Certificate at Rudolf Steiner College. She has been at DMS for more than 15 years teaching in both the grades and high school and serving on the school board. Prior to teaching, she had extensive experience as a youth and family mentor for leading non-profit institutions in the Valley.

It takes such great COURAGE as a parent, to offer your child the gift of a Waldorf Education. Waldorf Education often speaks of meeting the child where they are at. Can we speak of meeting the parent where they are at??

What to bring: Our curiosity, Open Hearts AND MINDS…maybe a Notebook and Pen.
