School Psychologist
Description
We are looking for a grades teacher for 1st grade and 3rd grade school psychologist for the 2023/24 school year.
The psychologist will collaborate with the Executive Director and the Student Support team.
Qualifications
State and/or national School Psychologist certification from the National Association of School Psychologists.
Master's degree.
Work experience in public charter education or related field as a school interventionist or psychologist
Firm understanding of child and school psychology
Commitment to continuing education as a school psychologist throughout your career
Excellent communication skills with both children and adults
Ability to maintain and organize confidential records (experience using IEP Pro or similar programs for record keeping)
Understanding and commitment to following all related laws and standards
Organizational, scheduling and planning skills to manage complex schedules, and the schedule of many students from Kindergarten all the way through 12th grade
Ph.D. recommended as eventual education goal for school psychologists
Valid AZ DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Clear TB Test.
Exercise ethical conduct at all times.
Knowledge of Waldorf education and public school operations (Certificate of Waldorf Administration desirable).
Evidence of supporting a collaborative work environment.
Essential Job Functions
Working with the school counselor, executive director and the student support team.
Screen students for potential psychological issues and make recommendations for treatment plans based on this screening.
Network with teachers and families to create 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that help ensure success for kids who need these supports.
Counsel students and parents with pointing them toward further resources when needed.
Collaborate with the student support services team to design and implement intervention strategies and programs.
Administer therapy to children with developmental, learning or behavioral delays.
Work with at-risk youth who are in need of educational intervention to help them achieve success.
Analyze and treat school children using psychoanalytic and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student health and academic records.
Communication with the school registrar when records need to be requested from a previous school of attendance for a student who will be evaluated.
